The Cenotes of Mexico – underground, freshwater caverns and caves – should be on every underwater photographer’s bucket list! They are breathtakingly beautiful with contrasting light and shadow, walls of the sun’s rays, vibrant blue and green hues and spectacular limestone formations. Most of these images were shot with available light only. Having a camera that has high ISO capability is a must for these shooting scenarios – Canon 5D MKIII in a Nauticam housing and Sigma 15mm fisheye lens. Whether scuba diving or freediving, either are a wonderful way to experience the visual splendor of the Cenotes.
