On a recent expedition to Mexico, we ventured to the village of Puerto Aventuras, just west of Playa del Carmen. Our home base for the 4 days, we loaded up and geared up each day to different cenotes in the area. Being underwater photographers and videographers, our group wanted cenotes with visual appeal. We enlisted the help of our friends at Dive Aventuras, who did not disappoint. They expertly guided us to the area’s best cenotes for underwater image-making. Having just scratched the surface, we could have easily stayed several more days to further explore more cenotes and revisit the ones we’d already experienced.
Taken with a fisheye lens and using only available light, these cenote images show another realm of the underwater world.
