Gallery of Underwater Images from Raja Ampat Featured on the Bird’s Head Seascape Website
Joel and Jen recently traveled to Raja Ampat, Indonesia for the first time. Known for its incredible marine biodiversity, Raja Ampat is a divers’ and underwater photographers’ paradise! Some of Jen’s images are now featured on the Bird’s Head Seascape website.
Underwater Images Featured in Sport Diver Magazine
In the May 2016 issue of Sport Diver magazine, Joel and Jen have a few of their underwater images featured.
The image for Rolling in the Shallow was taken on Grand Cayman at Stingray Bandbar. The black and white image and the smaller sidebar image were selected by the magazine to support Dr. Alex Mustard’s underwater photography column where he shareshis techniques and tips for better underwater images. These are from the cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.

New Whale Shark ID Database Added to the Bird’s Head Seascape Website
In Cenderawasih Bay, in the Bird’s Head Seascape region of Indonesia, a small group of whale sharks reside. Observing these behemoth fish can assist scientists in learning more about these gentle giants. The BHS website now has a feature whereby a whale shark lover can report a sighting of an already ID’d whale shark or upload a photo of a potentially new whale shark to the region.
